Thank You for Attending The Barn Dance and Showing You Believe In Ability

We’re still giddy with gratitude and re-living each festive moment of The GallopNYC BarnDance, thanks to photographer Stephane Verzi.

We are enormously grateful to NY1’s George Carroll Whipple III for joining the party as our guest emcee – and for his outstanding Barn Dance attire, complete with stetson hat and chaps.   Thank you, George!

We thought everyone looked mighty fine. We are so grateful to all our generous sponsors, co-chairs and guests.

If you were not able to join us this year, please consider making a donation.

This year’s festivities were extra special as we honored Co-founder and long-time Executive Director Alicia Kershaw as she steps down from her role. The gratitude towards Alicia and all she has achieved was palpable.

Over 300 guests celebrated Alicia for the vision, passion, and hard work she has provided over the past 13 years. Board Member Sol Reischer presented Alicia with the new ‘Kershaw Stables’ sign at GallopNYCForest Hills. It was a night to remember – filled with laughs, tears, smiles and inspiration. See our surprise video, thanking Alicia here

Thanks to our generous donors, we raised over $250,000 – funds that will provide fee waivers to lower-income riders, allowing us to continue expanding.

The Barn Dance featured live bluegrass music; award-winning BBQ from Hometown; whiskey tasting from Van Brunt Stillhouse; and square dancing with celebrated caller Dave Harvey – all at The Foundry, a beautiful oasis in Long Island City.

Congratulations to all our honorees, Alicia Kershaw, Peter Rose and Neil Puri. Three cheers to Tim Zietara who received the prestigious Believe in Ability Volunteer Award. Special thanks to our co-chairs and to our generous sponsors.
