When I went to the Green today, after Thursday’s unexpected snowfall, I expected everything to be shriveled and dead. But no!
There were persimmons clinging to their tree and the witch hazels had just begun to bloom:
We still had asters and black-eyed Susans
purple basil glowing in the late sunlight
beautyberries and viburnum berries and porcelain berries
And best of all, YOU!
