Nikki Slesin

I have been a runner for the past 7 years and, as a native New Yorker, running the New York City Marathon has always been a life-long dream of mine. This is an opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zone while supporting an organization I have long admired — GallopNYC. I have been involved with GallopNYC since 2013 after I began working in special education. When I had the opportunity to combine two loves of mine, horses and running, I knew I was meant to run the marathon in support of GallopNYC.

Julia Weiss

I've been an avid rider since as long as I can remember and have wanted to run the NYC marathon since I watched my dad run it twenty years ago. I originally signed up to run in 2020 which was obviously cancelled, and I'm even more excited to be able to run in 2022. I have so much faith in horses' ability to heal and am honored to support such a great cause as GallopNYC!

Ryan Beckett

I have been involved with the equine industry for over 15 years brokering horse farms and as a result, I know how important and effective a charity like Gallop NYC can be for all involved. When my friends Julia and Don said they were running for their great mission via the NYC Marathon which has always been on my bucket list, I didn't hesitate to jump in with both feet.

Meet our team of passionate, motivated runners who will go the distance to further our mission and believe in ability.

Honour Masters

I have been working with GallopNYC for over 8 years. Up until 2 years ago, I ran the Rising Professionals Group (or RPG), helping with fundraising initiatives, strategic projects (budgeting, marketing), and events. I have always been inspired by how GallopNYC can change the lives of mentally and physically disabled New Yorkers just by allowing them to be a part of something special. I have been a runner for most of my life - completing the 2011 and 2015 NYC Marathons. It is an incredible experience, and I cannot wait to finally represent GallopNYC at such an important race!

Don Stewart

Don Stewart III

I am running the NYC Marathon because running is something I have grown very passionate about over the last few years and now I get the chance to run in this prestigious marathon in one of the greatest cities in the world for a great cause. I grew up in a horse-oriented family, so getting to raise money for a charitable cause such as GallopNYC means a great deal.

Eva Barnett

As a life-long equestrian and an experienced long-distance runner, I am honored to be running my first NYCM in support of GallopNYC. Horses have always been a major part of my life and I understand how the bond between horses and people can be healing. Every time I mount up I find myself becoming a more confident version of myself, I am more in tune with my mind and body, and I am receptive with my equine partner. While running allows me to access some of these benefits, there is truly nothing like riding a horse.

Julia Berger-Bailey

I rode competitively at Skidmore College and I have experienced first-hand just how impactful horses can be on individuals. Being in graduate school for social work, GallopNYC’s mission of using therapeutic horsemanship to help individuals with disabilities live their lives fully is incredibly important to me. I’ve been running distance for most of my life and running the NYC Marathon has been a huge dream of mine. I am so excited and honored to be running for such an amazing organization!
