GallopNYC COVID-19 Related Policies

COVID-19 Vaccination

  • Every person over 5 years old visiting our Forest Hills location must show proof of vaccination (photo of vaccination card or physical vaccination card, Excelsior Pass app or NYC COVID safe app). If you are unvaccinated and accompanying someone for a lesson, we ask that you stay outside while on site.  

  • Our outdoor locations, GallopNYC Sunrise Stables, Prospect Park, and Bronx Equestrian Center, do not require vaccination for participants, but do require it for staff and volunteers.

Masks/Face Coverings

  • Masks are strongly encouraged whenever you are on site (this includes GallopNYC employees, riders, visitors, or volunteers) at all GallopNYC locations.

  • Masks will be provided at no cost if needed to anyone on site. Please ask at check-in if you would like a mask.

Social Distancing Guidelines

  • We ask that only one person accompany you to the barn for your lesson. Minimizing the number of people on site helps us provide safe lessons. 

  • When you arrive, you will need to wait at the check-in center.  We are required to keep a visitor log that includes a symptom check. 

Screening 

  • If you are not feeling well, please do not come for your lesson or volunteer shift. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule.

  • Every person on site is required to complete a COVID-19 symptom check before they begin their scheduled activities. If you or anyone in your party has a temperature or symptoms, you will be asked to leave the site and we will reschedule your lesson or volunteer shift.

  • We encourage you to take a COVID-19 test if you have a temperature or other COVID-19 symptoms. 

Shared surfaces

  • Riders, we encourage you to purchase your own helmet and riding gloves. This will minimize the risk of spreading germs on site.

  • We do provide ASTM safety-certified helmets, and these will be sanitized after use. All shared equipment will be sanitized after use. 

  • All staff and visitors are to wash their hands before and after every lesson.

  • All staff and visitors are to wash their hands before and after entering the bathroom.
