Seniors Program

The GallopNYC Seniors Program welcomes older adults to connect, move, and thrive through the healing power of horses. Our free, 90-minute weekly sessions are offered every Tuesday during the spring and fall, providing a joyful and supportive environment for adults 65 and older.

Each session includes:

• Horse care and horsemanship education

• A nutritious lunch

• Social time with peers and GallopNYC staff

Programs are held at our Queens location and are open to seniors from across New York City. Groups are small (8–10 participants), ensuring individualized attention and a welcoming, community feel.

In addition to the Tuesday program, private and small-group lessons are available throughout the week. Lessons are offered on a sliding scale (standard rate is $70 per session) to ensure accessibility.

Many seniors become active members of our community by volunteering. After their session, they often stay to help lead horses or walk alongside our riders with disabilities—building new friendships and making a meaningful impact.
